M.R.F.D.
Written, Directed & Edited by Nik Box
Produced by Nik Box & Dave Dilnut Music by Chan Walrus Cast: Scarlett Brooke, Pete Spreadz, Gerald Steele Running Time 40mins. UK 2013 IMDB Surpassing even the ChristHouse films to claim the crown of DGFL's most controversial title, MRFD tells the tale of the unfortunately-named Mr Rape who finds himself shunned by the futuristic society in which all entertainment is forbidden. Finding a strange TV set lurking on the beach, our hero turns it on & starts to receive strange messages from a bizarre figure onscreen. Taking its subject matter just seriously enough, MRFD may be a deeply uncomfortable viewing experience but it also refrains from being unnecessarily graphic leaving the viewer firmly on the side of the victim. Using its exploitation/trash elements as hooks for the more adventurous viewer, MRFD is at heart a provocative & thought-provoking treatise on censorship & the role of entertainment in real-life crimes. MRFD has also been issued as a super-collectible limited release with Christmas music in place of the usual soundtrack. |
